Lustrum Frisian Cooking Masterclass - Oranjekoek Edition

Join us for the third cooking workshop, this time we will focus on a FRISIAN dessert!

Jelle will bake with us the Oranjekoek, a traditional King's Day cake :)

The cake is vegan!

What do you need?

CAKE
- 300 grams of flour
- 25 grams of cornstarch
- 100 grams of cold margarine
- 150 grams of sugar
- pinch of salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon ground aniseed
- 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1 orange (for the peel)
- 3 tablespoon aquafaba (liquid from a chick pea can)
- 60 ml of water

FILLING
- 150 gr almond paste (amandelspijs)
- 1 tablespoon aquafaba (chick pea liquid, again)

ICING
- 125 - 150 gr powder sugar
- ~2 tablespoon of juice (red berries or orange/carrot depending on the color you want)

OPTIONAL but nice to put on top
- (vegan) whipped cream
- fruit
- chocolate

UTENSILS
- baking tin ~ 25x25 cm
- bowls
- whisk
- oven
- baking paper
- grater
