“We suffer more in imagination than in reality.” – Seneca
You may have heard that you are not your thoughts but, though we know this, we repeatedly get identified with our thinking. Often to such and extend that we let it dictate our day-to-day emotions. This can be pleasant if you think positively but all too often negative thinking, about for example consequences of missing a deadline, result into feeling stressed.
Often, we let our thoughts dictate our day-to-day emotions. When you think positively this can be pleasant but all too often negative thinking, about for example missing deadlines or consequences of actions, results into negative emotions.
Meditation learns you to gradually recognize your thoughts and enables you to become less identified with them over time. This way they’ll lose the power over you and return you to a calm state of being.
